Often we are asked if we are the builder. The answer is no, we do not function as the builder for your new home. (See our Find a Builder page for a list of experienced builders). We work as a subcontractor to you or your builder. The following is a list of what we typically provide, often using solutions unknown to many contractors.

  • HVAC sizing--using software which takes the thermal mass into account
  • Heating cost projections--analysis of concrete and wood framed homes to show the difference your ICF home makes in real dollar amounts
  • Cost/benefit analysis--project the payback of various building elements, such as ICF walls, underslab insulation, high efficiency furnace, etc.
  • Value engineering--specify various levels of insulation as well as HVAC systems based upon your desires
• Basement repair/finishing
  • Solving problems with Michigan basements such as odor, moisture, energy efficiency, and unusable space
  • Installation of In-So-Fast in masonry and poured wall foundations to solve the same problems

Products we use:

Here is a small sampling of the products we use in our ICF walls. Many of them are made in the USA. Browse their websites for more information; and if you have any questions, please contact us!

• We are distributors of Lite-Deck. This is a poured in place ICF floor system most commonly used for porch caps and multi-level garages where a finished room is desired below.
• Plasticlock is a UL approved electrical box that is installed in the ICF's as they are being built. In this way we avoid cutting up the foam after the pour to get the boxes and wiring in place, which results in a significant labor savings and a neater, cleaner jobsite.
• Reechcraft is the bracing/scaffolding system that R-Value owns. We believe it is one of the most versitale ICF bracing systems out there.
• Platon is a waterproofing membrane that R-Value installs which carries a 30 year warranty. We believe that it is far superior to spray on and stick on waterproofings, since it is an air-gap membrane. Visit their website to learn more.
• V-Buck is a PVC material for bucking out windows that offers many advantages over wood bucks.
• Pre-Buck is a wood-based buck for windows and doors that offers many advantages over traditional bucks.

Amvic, Arxx; BuildBlock, Greenblock, Hobbs, Fox Blocks, Logix, Nudura, Reward, and Standard ICF are all ICF blocks which we have installed or are familiar with.
