R-Value provides installation services of insulated concrete form walls; insulated concrete form floors (Lite-Deck); footings; flatwork for everything from patios and porches to factory and warehouse slabs; stained, textured, exposed aggregate and other decorative slabs and walls; pervious concrete slabs for driveways and parking; suspended concrete floors for multi-level garages and porch caps, etc.; poured retaining walls; and about anything else concrete you can think of. We also can run a heat loss analysis of concrete and wood framed homes to show the difference an ICF homes makes in real dollar amounts.

Products we use:

Here is a small sampling of the products we use in our ICF walls. Many of them are made in the USA. Browse their websites for more information; and if you have any questions, please contact us!

  • We are distributors of Lite-Deck. This is a poured in place ICF floor system most commonly used for porch caps and multi-level garages where a finished room is desired below.
  • Plasticlock is a UL approved electrical box that is installed in the ICF's as they are being built. In this way we avoid cutting up the foam after the pour to get the boxes and wiring in place, which results in a significant labor savings and a neater, cleaner jobsite.
  • Reechcraft is the bracing/scaffolding system that R-Value owns. We believe it is one of the most versitale ICF bracing systems out there.
  • Platon is a waterproofing membrane that R-Value installs which carries a 30 year warranty. We believe that it is far superior to spray on and stick on waterproofings, since it is an air-gap membrane. Visit their website to learn more.
  • V-Buck is a PVC material for bucking out windows that offers many advantages over wood bucks.

Amvic, BuildBlockGreenblock, Fox Blocks, Logix, Nudura, Reward, and Standard ICF are all ICF blocks which we can install and are familiar with. If you don't see your favorite block here, just ask! Click here for an article on the differences between blocks, and how to choose the right one for your project.

We are proud to say that most of the products we use are made in the USA!

ICF friendly products:

Windows

In order to qualify for Energy Star, a window in northern climates needs to have a u-value no greater than .35. Since u-value is an inverse of r-value; this is an r-value of only 2.86!! It pays to find better windows, especially in homes with a lot of them! The following are some windows that exceed Energy Star requirements. Keep in mind that a u-value of .30 is an r-value of 3.33, .20 is an r-5, while a u-value of .10 would be r-10.

Alside Windows 616.531.6546 Built locally in Grand Rapids. They offer a cutting edge triple glazed window with Krypton gas called the TK2. TK2 windows can have u-values down to .10. These vinyl windows also carry a lifetime warranty.

Fibertec Window and Door Mfg. 888.232.4956 Their fiberglass triple glazed windows have a u-value of .20. Fibertec is out of Canada.

Polar Seal Windows 616.454.1180 Made locally in Grand Rapids, these windows can be custom built with triple panes.

Thermotech LTD. 888.930.9445 Also out of Canada, these fiberglass windows can be ordered with triple glazing to obtain u-values below .20.
